Dear President Obama
As you have said we can’t change history but we can bend it toward justice, it means that people can’t change history, but people can change the future. I’m the student from RIST, Thailand. I think the thing is that people could do anything to make a better life in the future. It could be anything like teaching Thai children in English, or raising poor people by money and etc. These things would be able to change the world because people would have more education and job to do, so their life would be more comfortable and this world will have less uneducated and poor people.“One can make a difference?” I am totally agreed with this idea. As I’ve read many kinds of stories which were about one make a difference, it taught me a lot. Even only one person wants to do something, if you think by your own and start to do it, anything could happen.
“Bend the history” means that people can’t change the history, but they can do something to make it to be better. For example, I as a Thai person teach Tom, a Taiwanese person in Thai. Tom has a difficulty in learning word order because the position of the word order is not the same. It made him confused a lot, so I could teach him and help him correcting the grammar. It would help him to understand more in Thai language and it would be great for his future. This example would be a nice chance to bend Tom’s history which he never knows another language and one day he can speak and understand. I’m sure that he would be so happy.

12.[RE-WRITE] Reflection
Why lesson planning is necessary when teaching a language?
The first thing that is definitely necessary for lesson planning is that the teacher or I as the teacher should know or understand the lesson before I teach the student which is Tom. I must prepare for everything such as the pictures, the vocabularies, or any test for the students to know their level, or even go out to meet the real things. I should prepare to look natural when I am teaching otherwise Tom won’t really believe me of my lesson. The teacher should be respectable for the student. The class would flow easily and succeed.

11. Plan
As I have talk to Tom about our project, I decided to go to the department store and choose one restaurant. I’ll start this project after I finish my SEASAC tournament. It’ll be next week. We’ll begin to talk about the restaurant stuffs such as the tableware, taste, etc. I think it is useful if we both go to do and see the real things. I’ve planned to teach him some vocabularies in restaurant stuffs. I would prepare the sentences for him to be able to remember it and learn it easily. I would take a video when I teach him to show how I teach. After the first week I will decide later what topic I will teach him, I would be how to tell the direction, how to talk to the taxi, or even how to buy a train ticket.

10. Reflection
How would you like to be taught English? Of course everyone loves to play game. It is the best way to study from games because it’s fun and easy to makes the students remember. There are many kind of games, it could be from drawing and take a guess for vocabulary study.
What is the role of the student and teacher?
Teacher should be like an idol to students. Students will see how teachers act and they might do it same thing. If teachers are doing something that students can’t, then will feel unfair.
Teachers might want to be friendly with students, but they shouldn’t be too friendly otherwise students won’t give them a respect.
How could we make sure everyone is involved?
To make sure that everyone is involved is to look around and see who is not doing the work together. The work that everyone is doing should be something interesting to make them have fun and feel free to join. Also the language of communication, if there are many nationalities of people then we should include all language otherwise some other country people will feel left out.

9. Reflection
After we planned about our community project, I have prepared some Thai stuffs for Tom. I chose a topic about school dress up and especially about the no-uniform day.
I have chosen the vocabularies from the sentence in the book and I made the sentence in Thai meaning, but using english. For example, I like you "Pom-chorb-khun".
I made about 3-4 sentences with about 7-8 vocabs for Tom to remember. It was great to study in this way because the students will understand easier than using the real Thai.
I found out that making a sentence and words in our own language is not easy. We should make it very simple, so the students will understand easily.
Today's lesson did guide me of how to teach Tom.

8. Reflection
As we had discussed on our project, it was quite nice information that we have. So far we have planned where we will meet to teach each other and when. We've our goal to reach which are make Tom able to order food from the restuarant, buy a train ticket, school vocabulary, asking for direction. These things are ver important for daily life. It would be great if Tom can study and remember it fast. We didn't change anything in our plan. We don't really have a gap. Therefore, we will study and teach each other hard in the study time.
